Addition within 1000

Addition within 1000 There are different mathematical operations in math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Addition is of the basic and prominent mathematical operation used in every branch of math and life in general. Addition is denoted by the sign +. Addition means summation or combining and getting the total number of the quantity. Addition follows some rules such: Commutative (The order in with the numbers are added doesnt change the answer.) Associative (When adding two or more numbers the order doesnt matter.). Adding zero to any number gives itself. Example 1: Add the following numbers and find the answer: 567 + 231? Solution: Given are two numbers 567 and 231 which are within 1000. Adding the numbers 567 + 231. First the ones place is added 7 + 1 = 8. Now adding the tens place of the given numbers 6 + 3 = 9. Then adding the hundreds place of the numbers = 5 + 2 = 7. Hence the sum of: 567 + 231 = 798. Question: Multiple choice question (Pick the correct option.) What is sum when the two numbers 671 and 112 are added? a) 783 b) 781 c) 683 d) None of these. Correct answer: option a. Explanation: Here the two numbers 671 and 112 are given. Adding the ones place 1 + 2 = 3. Adding the tens place 7 + 1 = 8. Adding the hundreds place 6 + 1 = 7. Hence, adding the numbers 671 + 112 = 783.
